McCann died Friday in Los Angeles a week after being hospitalized with pneumonia, according to his manager, Alan Abrahams.

I've known of his version of the song because it sold a million copies. But I wasn't aware there was video of his performance. The YouTube is part of the NPR obituary. It's really magic to actually SEE them perform this song.
 
I have the album it came off of, Swiss Movement. Somehow, that song's lyrics always seemed timeless.
