JC Monahan leaving WCVB after 15 years

Agreed!

She's being pulled from the anchor desk and will only do Chronicle until her contract expires. They did the same thing when Phil Lipof resigned. They pulled him from the anchor desk and kept him as reporter only.

JC and Phil are very good friends. Phil is main anchor at NBC Boston. What are the odds she'll end up there at some point? I'm still waiting for Heather Unruh to show up somewhere.

I was thinking of JC and Phil since they were childhood friends. I would wonder if Phil would come back to WCVB to say goodbye to J.C. but then again maybe not since Phil's now working at WBTS.
 
I wonder why she is leaving after all of this time. She is certainly the most visible female on-air personality at the station while both anchoring the news and co-hosting Chronicle...both of which she did exceptionally well. I can't see her going to NBC Boston no matter how much they offered her. It would be a downward step. Whatever she will do, I wish her the best of luck and thank her for her years at channel 5. The WCVB archives are richer for her coverage.
 
The article said the new anchor teams start on Mon the 27th so perhaps she's getting one last week at the anchor desk. Be interesting to see if they give her a goodbye show on Friday since she'll still be around, on Chronicle anyway, for a while longer.
