JC Penney commercial with Ellen

On one of Ellen Degeneres' JC Penny commercials. Where she dressed up in the Victorian era England. And they talked about in British money, £14.99. People do some research please! The UK didn't used decimal currency until February 15, 1971. They used the pre-decimal system aka £/s/d or Pounds/Schillings/Pence like for example £14/19/8 (in decimal money £14.99 of course).

What do you think of the commercial.

I haven't seen it, but for the foreseeable future, I intend to buy sundries AT J. C. Penney for NOT buckling down to troglodytes. There's a store a short distance away just over the MA/NH line.

I like the commercials (all of them). I think they are very well done and humorous to boot.

Who is the actress that plays the store clerk? She cracks me up. She reminds me of Joan Plowright (Enchanted April, 101 Dalmations, Tea With Mussilini) I don't think thats her, but she looks familiar.

That would be the actress who was on the Judd Hirsh comedy "Dear John". Her name is Jane Carr. Below is her imdb link:

I think the commercial is just fine. You, however, may have slightly too much time on your hands. ;)

At least the UK kept the pound, otherwise the commercial would have cited the cost at €14.99 because the euro has been around forever, eh? ::)

Seriously, search for MPFC bits on YouTube. Especially where the big corporation only made a profit of one shilling. :p :D ;)
