Jeff Bolton?

I have heard of him before but where? And before anyone accuses me of being Jeff Bolton, I am not. He sounds pretty cool so far.

He didn't last long in San Antone, but maybe he will fit in on the new Big 570. Any bets on how long before KLIF goes Spanish?

Just curious.....
Is there anyone you guys like?

Howard Stern, Russ Martin, Charlie Jones, Mark Davis, Limbaugh, The Hardline and The Musers.

I really care nothing about shock jock radio it all gets pretty boring and they all do the same thing. Sports talk is almost as exciting as watching paint dry. News-Talk is more relevant to me.

bolton bombed in SanAn, but was a cheap hire and no nasty moving expenses!!!

Well, I have to admit, Bolton's show made me laugh out loud. Not with it, though. Directly at it.

I thought I heard him call himself "The Mayor of Commonsenseville."

That's got to be the stupidest sounding moniker that I've ever heard. It sounds like some lame-o skit on an early-70's live-action kid's show, where the kid would be in some sort of sticky moral dillemma. "Well, Billy, let's just take a stroll over to Commonsenseville, and we'll ask the Mayor what he'd do!"

Geez. "The Mayor of Crapsville", more like. Truth is, the show's so boring I can't even bring myself to listen for very long, even to goof on it.

Yep that's how they're branding the show. See for yourself here: http://klif.com/

I like the just out of the package Dallas Cowboys shirt he's wearing to show what a fan he is. http://klif.com/host-bolton.html

You all sound like a bunch of jealous cynical wannabes that have nothing good to say about anything. I listened to him all week and while I'll agree his "mayor of commonsenseville" is stupid, I'd say give him more of a chance to get all his shit in one sock. KLIF is still way better than any other station in DFW. I don't care what the numbers say. It means nothing to me because I am a "listener" not a jaded radio industry insider mad at the world because he hates his job but can't do anything else. JMHO.

Awesome catch, Spinderella! I wonder if they'll leave that photo up, or re-take the picture after he's worn his new shirt a few times.

I'm not really a talk radio person, but my wife can't sleep without a radio. So far, I've found both Jeff and JD to be a breath of fresh air. Anything is an improvement over Darrell and his ignorant following. These guys seem honest, open and have created something much more interactive. The rest of the crew seems to be more involved in the show, making it far more diverse. I'm very happy with the change. Best of luck to both Jeff and JD.

I think whatever changes you make to your life take time to adjust, whether it's a different drive to work or a different talk show host on the way. I neither loved or loathed Darrell, choosing to see through that massive ego he had and enjoy the entertainment. (not the 55 comments on his blog @ ankarlo.net - everyone of them a compliment - he must look at them every day (now that his wife has sieved out the abusive ones) and think how wonderful he was.

JB came out fighting this morning slagging the "ankarlo army" that are sending him abusive mail and I am with him on that - His funniest line (unintentional, I think) being " I wouldn't know Darrell from Adam if I saw him ( Adam of course being Ankarlos military son) ::) But PLEASE JB, quit the " I am just a middle income tax payer originally from Texas" How many times do you NEED to say that in hope of 'being accepted' here? and also don't they have a travel guy on KLIF already? Do you really need to break into a topic and tell us about a shock, gasp, horror ... a stalled car on I-35 ?

Wouldn't be in a hurry to bring the wife and kids 'home' just yet JB...

Thanks 'Nuff....That was nice. All of us on the "Report" will do our very best every single day.

I agree, it seems no one is safe. Is that because of so many bitter, out of work talk show hosts on this board or just a lot of experts ?

A big +1 on that.

I'm not a regular poster on this board - just signed up to make this comment as a matter of fact, feeling compelled to do so after reading some of the snide nasty comments here.

I found this thread after doing a google search for "Jeff Bolton" and "dfw". I did the google search specifically because I was intrigued by some of his comments on his show (regarding 2nd Amendment & gun issues), and have actually come to like & respect most of what he has to say.

I'm not a radio show affecionado/snob like some here seem to be, but I do listen at times on the way to and from work. My impression of both Jeff Bolton and his afternoon counterpart JDW is that both are entertaining, intelligent and even keeled for the most part.

I guess I'm not that concerned with how JB did in S.A., or what kind of football jersey he wears in his press photo, or even whether the 'mayor of common-sense-ville' is a clever enough moniker.

I'm interested in the show, the items discussed there and the entertaining & informative way those items are presented. Despite my initial misgivings, both shows I mentioned are doing very well in those regards, well enough to keep me listening when I get the chance. I can also say that other than possibly Mark Davis (870am), I haven't found any other talk show hosts who can keep me listening.
