That 'other' NY radio board is reporting that Jeff Caplan is leaving WCBS AM's morning drive news anchor position after about 15 years. Before that he was Jeff Collins, teamed with his wife Gina Preston and also with Jeff Wylinski mornings at WXTU, doing a lot of recorded song parodies. Someone recently wondered here where Gina was. I remember hearing he was commuting from here to NYC every day. Any ideas where he may be going? (Here's a completely made-up unfounded rumor you're hearing here first - will he be be part of the lineup when KYW moves to FM as people here have been posting for weeks?) Seriously, he has proven he can do light entertainment or hard news - much like Bruce Bradley back on WCAU in the '70's who came from a major market jock background. Where will Jeff land next - where do you go after morning drive in NYC?
