Well he was with Smooth Jazz before they yanked that off the air, which is also a CBS owned station. I'd MUCH rather listen to him then Gene and Julie.
Thank the Lord, they also FINALLY took off the Christmas music. They start doing that WAY too early. At best it should be a week into the holiday.
Amen to that. This holiday music thing among the stations and competition over who plays (please shoot them) Elmo and Patsy first has gone off the deep end big time. Heck, even Radio-Locator during the holidays labels stations as "Holiday" with a cutesy little red and green logo, making you wonder "ok, they're playing Santa songs, but what the hell do they REALLY play?"
At a former station I worked at, I helped transfer the entire library of our Christmas songs from CD over to computer hard drive. After dubbing about 10 different versions of Jingle Bells, Sleigh Ride, and everything else imaginable about the holidays, see how joyous about Christmas music you are!. No, I ain't a Scrooge, but enough is enough. How those jocks on KVIL sounded so upbeat and cheery after they've probably played some crazy Christmas tune for the 100th time is beyond me. I probably would have walked down to the nearest overpass on Central Expressway and jumped!.
Put the Christmas music on one week before Christmas (2 or 3 songs an hour). Pile it on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day if you like. But come December 26, for God's sake, STOP!.
Yes - Jeff & Gail, Lynn, Tim etc. All missed as is the smooth jazz format. D/FW FM is in the worst shape ever. Too much country, Spanish & urban... Not enough variety. We need FM 24 hour news, Dance, Smooth Jazz & AAA. Oh yeah... we need Gene & Julie outta here... Barf & Puke!

Too Many urban stations....LOL...There are only 2.5 stations. K104 and the Beat. K-Soul and KRNB make up the other .5. They can only be heard in half of the Metroplex.
