From the press release:
Jeff Elliot returns to Dallas / Ft. Worth morning drive
as morning man at CBS Radio’s The Oasis
Dallas, Texas, June 26 --

CBS Radio’s KOAI-FM/Smooth Jazz
107.5 the Oasis announces that former KDMX/Mix 102.9
morning personality Jeff Elliot has joined the station as their
new morning host.

Elliot is no stranger to North Texas radio listeners having been
part of the Mix 102.9 Morning Show from 1999-2005.

Elliot’s career in radio has spanned more than 20 years
and has included stops in Los Angeles and New York.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Oasis team!” Elliot said. “I love
Dallas-Fort Worth and can’t wait to get on the air and take
care of business! Smoothly of course”.

Oasis program director Charley Connolly said, “Jeff’s a terrific
talent and a beloved DFW radio personality. We are
extremely fortunate to add him to our stellar line up of talent
here at The Oasis”.

Elliot’s first day on the air will be Tuesday June 27.

I wonder if he will be brave and be the first one to say, 'We are smooth jazz in name only. Do not dial in looking for real jazz. Go to KNTU for that. Stick around for more Aretha.'

Well said. Although the Oasis should be commended for doing as well as it does with that signal, I think things would be a quite a bit tougher for the Smooth "Jazz" station if KNTU had decent coverage in Dallas County... especially the southern section.

Too bad CBS didn't have the vision to give the morning shift to Tempie Lindsay. What ever happened to Lynn Haley and Larry Dixon? I can't believe CBS has let these great talents go.

Could be that's one reason CBS is in the shape it's in. The company loses the keepers and keeps the losers. A few good ones manage to stay around but not nearly enough of them.

Congratulations on the new gig Jeff. I wish you nothing but the best. Yeah I know people are complaining about the lack of "real jazz" on the Oasis, but personally, I think the variety sounds great. You deserve it and you'll do great. Take care.

I thought it was a great move to hire Jeff for the morning slot, although I truly didn't think anything was wrong with Rick Vanderslice in that slot as well. He'd held it before.

Well Jeff is already out of a job now.

Since The Oasis was dumped yesterday. :(

Hmmm... yeh, a lot of us in the office are missing the DJ's they had on OASIS.

You are not alone. A lot of "non Broadcasters are very p------ at the moment and will be for some time.

Sure wish I had a ton of money to BUY a radio station !!!!

I do miss the format as well, but I also hate to see DJ's out of a job, that sucks.
