Jeff G Out At MIX

We discussed Franzen but there was also another afternoon personality who was recently let go. Jeff G is no longer with MIX 94.1.

Jeff G has been a fixture in the market for close to a decade. I remember when he was one of the first jocks at KVEG back when they were a brand new station. It takes quite a talent to be able to do two formats as different as Hip Hop and Hot AC.

I wonder where Jeff G will land next? Also who will be the new PM drive talent for MIX?

Welp, as bizarre as radio can be, I wouldn't be surprised if Franzen and Jeff G swapped places! Franzen would have to tone it down a notch I'd think! Then again, Mike P was already given the afternoon spot at HOT 97 from what I have heard. Who knows though?

702.... I can't stop laughin at your post.... you think Franzen would do afternoon drive on Mix????? oh please, he has way more talent than that. If anyone at Mix shoud be let go, it's the BLAND morning show team. IMHO. they must sell lots of air time in the mornings for Mix, otherwise I would have let them go years ago.

come to think about it, I only listen to MIX for the music, the deejays aren't that great, compared to the guys down the hall at KLUC, now that is talent.

remember kids, deejays are to inform AND entertain.

I know this is mid market vegas radio, but come on.... know how to do a proper BIT, phoner, and LIVE remote call in. dam. and if you have to Voice Trak to make it tight, for christ sakes get the automation to fade/seq. right.

REALLY??? You believe the jocks at KLUC to be better than M&M? Your comment is actually more laughable. I'm personally not a fan of M&M, but look at it logically by taking notice of the numbers. KLUC mornings gets beat by numerous other stations (even inside KLUC's demo 18-34 - a demo they should dominate as the heritage Top40)! I'm not sure they still relate to their core.

With that said... KLUC jocks better??? According to the numbers, the jocks doing Party mornings are better and relate more. Oh wait, jockless, right?

By the way, have you seen NOW's numbers lately? Currently, they're one share behind KLUC in mornings and two shares behind overall (18-34). Will KLUC soon be the 4th ranked Top 40 station behind KVEG, Party, and Now? Maybe not overall, but certainly in AM drive.

What a surprise to see SUNNY #2 18-34 mornings? Can that be right? Maybe it's a case of all the young targeted stations fragmenting each other. Or maybe it's office listening (which wouldn't have been recorded in the diary system).

What a gap between what only1deejay man would have done to M&M (let them go years ago) and what actually happened to them (Million dollar contract).

It's only a surprise because they are on AM. Men love sports. Sports WXYT-FM is #1 by far 25-54 in Detroit. The format would have a lot of potential on FM here too, although Lotus already has all the good shows.
