Jeff Golub dies at 59

http://jazztimes.com/articles/151334-guitarist-jeff-golub-dies-at-59

Very tragic. Jeff Golub, one of the leading smooth jazz guitarists who recently released an excellent collaboration (a little over a year ago) with Brian Auger called "Train Keeps a Rolling", died today (New Year's Day). His cause of death was progressive supranuclear palsy (a brain disease that causes degeneration and eventual death of certain areas of the brain). I found out about it from a post that Peter White made on his Facebook page.

Golub became blind in 2011 due to his optic nerve collapsing. In 2012, he fell on some subway tracks in New York and was dragged by a train, but escaped with minor injuries. I am not sure if this disease was related to any of this.

Yes, tragic indeed. RIP to a wonderful smooth jazz guitarist. The first cut I ever heard from Jeff Golub, was the cover of "Cut the Cake" - maybe 2002 or 2003. Great groovy track!
"The Velvet Touch" is also a good track I have heard from him in the past; as well as the "Pick Up The Pieces" cut he did when Golub was with Avenue Blue in the mid 1990s.
Tragic to see him leave so early, wow.
