Jeff Hackett of WRNS was let go today...He received his Cobra benefits package in a fed-ex envelope on Saturday but no one had the guts to tell him the truth until today. Jeff is a hard worker, has a great attitude and great numbers. Please someone out there help him out. How low Next has sunk.

Unless your name is Carlyle your job security is not so secure.

But it makes me wonder, at what point will Next feel he makes too much money?

Just something to ponder in these crazy days of radio.

"Jeff is a hard worker, has a great attitude and great numbers."

What shift did he do? Wasn't he a co-host type? How could HE have good numbers?

Not trying to stir anything up....just curious

I am a friend of Jeff. He is one of the nicest people I have ever met. His ratings had just came back and were very good. From what I know even the other employess were floored.

The whole way this was handled makes it 10 times worse. To work somewhere 6 or 7 years and do a fantastic job, one would think a little more courtesy would have been earned. I can say that he has a huge base of listeners here in Jacksonville. My wife and a bunch of teachers are already in the loop about what is going on and they all vow to never listen to WRNS again!

Jeff's a hard working and genuinely nice guy. So far, no one knows why he was released. The truth will come out in the coming weeks....
