Jeff Miles Leaves Q100

Rodney Ho reported that Jeff Miles has left his midday shift on Q100. He was there just about exactly a year. As far as why, I have no clue. All I know is he sounded great and had top ratings.

When he returned to Atlanta a year ago, he said he made the move to be near family. The fact that he left Q100 without a job makes me think something wasn't copasetic. Whether it was coming to terms on a new contract or another issue, something must have been out of sync.

His interim replacement, McKinsie, sounds excellent. I'm guessing she's voice tracking from Indianapolis.

My guess is they brought him in and paid him top dollar with the sole purpose of him getting the midday ratings up. After they achieve the high ratings, they suddenly decide to "go in another direction." In other words, they used him to get their ratings up and probably paid him a lot of money too. They just don't want to give him a big salary anymore.

I've seen this a couple times before at stations I've worked at. They bring you in, pay you a lot of money to get ratings up and then can you when your contract is up.

I bet he goes to Star or Power, provided he's not under a non-compete clause.

BTW, how does this affect Q100? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Afternoon show open at Star. He's be a good fit.

That might be a good fit, Jeff Miles afternoons and Sari Rose nights. If that happens that might give Jeff Miles the distinction of being maybe the only air personality that worked at 95.5 The Beat, Q100, and Star 94.
