For many, many years I listened to Jeff Pigeon in the mornings. For years I thought it was the station and not the on air person that makes for a good radio show. (How wrong I was) Is he retired from radio altogether? Is he going to work again in Indy radio? I have to admit that I miss Big Johns traffic reports too.
I've been trading some emails with Jeff recently. He and Big John are working on some projects together and he's looking for his next gig. He's too talented not to be on the air, but I don't think stations in Indy appreciate his talent. I wish him well.

I stopped listening to WIBC after Jeff and Big John were let go. I did tune in to the FM conversion and wasn't impressed. Its totally different. I have friends who farm up around Dover, in Boone County who stopped listening to WIBC when they left. I guess Terri Stacy is the only one left from that old show. She is ok I guess but, after awhile she drives me nuts. I wonder if she's that goofy in her personal life?
I always listened to WIBC in the mornings, mainly for traffic, but Jeff truly was entertaining, and not in a juvenile way. I gave Jake a try, but he's just not entertaining. He's a sports guy, and every time I tune in, he has to talk about sports. (Dave Wilson seems to do the same thing a lot as well) I thought that was the point of 1070. I've pretty much started listening to 1430 all the time now. Abdul does a decent job in my opinion, and I'm really enjoying Dennis Miller in the afternoon. Their traffic is pretty good, too.
I wish Jeff the best. He's too talented not to be working somewhere.
Jeff was on with Smiley last friday morning right after the earthquake happened. Jeff and Smiley Joked that Emmis rigged the earthquake to try to keep Jeff off the AIr
Gary was great at WIBC because he grew within the product. Outside the product that he couldn't reproduce he was dead. Gary didn't change but the WIBC product and all that went with it (including listeners) didn't go also.
Jeff isn't stupid enough to consider this. Put Jeff on WXNT and it still is WXNT with almost no listeners.
WTPI (or the calls this week) might be an option as their numbers scrape bottom but they are still sampled. A personality morning show with Jeff at the helm playing music and having information then transitioning into music the rest of the day would be a great way to work Jeff into that station. WIBC used to play music in the morning.
Smiley and Jeff is an on air audition for something we just don't know what yet.
