Jeff Probst Show Question

Are there any stations out there airing the Jeff Probst show in the wee hours of the morning? In Pittsburgh, it airs on WPMY-22 (MY) at --- get this folks --- 4 AM, effective January 7th. In its place (in my area), TMZ/Dish Nation.Previously, it aired at a rather convenient time --- 4 PM --- against Dr. Oz (WTAE-4 (ABC)); Judge Judy (WPXI-11 (NBC)); Jeremy Kyle (WPGH-53 (FOX)); The "new" Ricki Lake (WPCW-19 (CW)) and KDKA-TV News @ 4 PM (KDKA-2 (CBS)). Talk about HUGE competition!

Indeed, it got the insult downgrade in Milwaukee, on two stations to boot. Last week it moved on WDJT (CBS) from the prime 3pm slot to 2:05am, replacing syndication whipping boy Cold Case Files (which moves to 4am on sister indie WMLW, where it belongs), and on WMLW the 'next day repeat' gets the 5am slot, replacing Recipe.tv. Rachel Ray bumped up from 9am on WMLW to 3pm on WDJT to replace Jeff, moving back to WDJT after four months on WMLW.

I was just reading that Probst just got downgraded in Chicago, where it airs on O&O WBBM at 1:07am currently. It originally aired at 2pm, where now reruns of Judge Judy currently air (in addition to another hour of episodes at 4pm).

Queen Latifah just signed up to do another talk show starting next season, and it very well could replace Probst on many of his same stations.

If his show is for only a year, his show will join Anderson Live & Jeremy Kyle, who both ended up with cancelled shows. I don't know how much longer Jeremy Kyle will be taping his show, but it's supposed to run until the end of the season, & then he can focus on his successful UK version of his show. Anderson can probably focus on CNN, where he's been successful.

WVIT in Hartford is still airing Jeff Probst at 2PM, but then again they don't have overnight slot to bump him to. WVIT is an NBC 0&0 and NBC programs all night long.

11:35PM Jay Leno
12:35AM Jimmy Fallon
1:35AM Carson Daly
2:05AM The Best of Kathy Lee and Hoda (repeat from previous morning)
3:00AM Mad Money (previous evening repeat)
4:00AM Early Today
4:30AM-7:00AM NBC 30 News

The only option for them would be if they dumped it onto COZI TV at 5AM where Infomercials currently air.

If he got downgraded that badly in Chicago on an O&O, his show is toast this season in favor of Queen Latifah. I wonder if some unusual cases may happen where WJLA/DC which will lose Anderson will pick up Latifah and give her 4pm, moving Katie to 3pm. That is a lot of talk show rotation.

Katie will likely be given atleast one more year, but I wonder about Ricki Lake's show.

Since the show has not been officially canceled as of yet (although most such announcements come during NAPTE at the end of this month) Probst may get a second chance season if new stations can be found. The stations that have sent him to the never never land of post-midnight have no intention of renewing the show. But sadly all signs point to this show joining the graveyard of one seasons wonders :-\

Leno 11:34..........sorry! Had to be a smart alleck ;D

i figured Lettermen would jump to 11:33

The show was probably a decent idea. I know he sat in for Reege several times.

Personally, I think if the show does get canned (and it sounds like it will), he should be Trebek's replacement on Jeopardy! Now before anyone goes off the deep end, he DOES have previous experience with the format, even though the focus was music.

Okay, my turn: "The Best of Kathie Lee and Hoda"? Let's start with the show not being "good" in the first place...

Sounds sensible. Both Jeff Probst Show and Jeopardy are distributed by CBS Distribution. He'd join Wayne Brady and Howie Mandel as not successful with a talk show, but fine as game show hosts. He is already one for Survivor.

Edit: Queen Latifah's show is going to the CBS O&Os, not the NBC O&Os. So, if the NBC O&Os drop Jeff Probst, they'd replace the show with something else.

Probably in NYC, Latifah will take The Doctors place on WCBS, and The Doctors will be offered to WNBC replacing Jeff Probst. All of these shows are distributed by CBS Distribution.
