JEFF RAY @ WKRN

since there's no Nashville TV board...thought I'd ask here:
looks like Jeff is again gone from WKRN (just checked their website...no listing)
yesterday morning the anchors wrapped up at 7a with "good luck Jeff...we'll miss you"
I was hoping maybe WKRN was moving him to the 4-6:30pm block...or 10p...guess not.
FWIW...I liked seeing a weather person who spoke the weather without talking down or being cute or repeating stale catch phrases. oh well...

Jeff had a unique delivery. Refreshing to a point. Could this have been a move from management because they didn't like his delivery?

[quote author=FOX 17's weather dude said his goodbyes last Wednesday. Could he be headed there?

Which weather guy on fox 17, Craig in the Am or Arch in the Pm?

Jeff is good and he's knowledgeable. He came here over a decade ago from the NBC station in Kansas City doing key slots there. He took the morning shift just to get a job here as he was looking after his father, who was ill. He's seen at least 5 GMs in that time and watched them slip into bankrupcy. That alone tells me, he's not some self absorbed TV star, but a good son, and seemingly a good guy. Hope he does well.

Jeff is going to KTVT-KTXA Dallas.
excellent news...thanks, Wind
Glad to hear that. Good luck, Jeff! :)

Jeff had the most "meteorology-speak" of any meteorologist here in Nashville, but he still managed to make weather understandable, meaning that he didn't speak over people's heads.

Wonder if he will take another three-year vacation from WKRN like he did from 2002-2005! ;D Remember Kevin Skarupa? Remember (briefly!) seeing Jeff Ray on Newschannel 5?

Meanwhile, it looks like Joe Case is back on Fox 17.

Joe's been tweeting that this is only temp thing. He's a good one to follow.

Nock

Earlier somebody said Arch Kennedy left 17. Where's he going?
Since the Tennessean doesn't cover radio or tv like other markets, this story of Jeff was not covered or maybe I missed it.
But this is a huge jump. Nashville is tv market #29. Dallas is #5. We haven't seen a personality from any station make a leap like this in years and years.
Jeff is good. It's also nice to see Nashville tv noticed. Believe me, go to Memphis, Knoxville or Chattanooga and the overall level of tv professionalism is a big drop off.

Call me slow, but I just decided this morning, Jeff is gone. Kept thinking maybe vacation, then vacation?, now, gone!!! I hate it. Does anyone have an email for him? I'd just like to let him know, we miss him. Used to live in DFW, and they just don't deserve him. :'(
