There's a lot more to it than that. Those are all debatable issues. But suffice it to say that Jeff's style of management and that of the new market manager in Macon were not compatible; there was a better fit with the previous market manager.
The 'PEZ ratings issue is one that could be debated for days. Yes, the station fell in the Spring ratings. But AC's all across the country were down in the Spring, and a lot of that may have to do with the fact that so many AC's (WPEZ included) did exceedingly well in the Fall book with all-Christmas programming, and there was a long way to fall after that. That's not an excuse, just one of a number of factors that may have contributed.
Trust me, Z93.7 won't be down for long, and I think it's safe to say that the fall in ratings has not significantly impacted the value of the station to advertisers, except maybe national ad buyers who look solely at Arbitron numbers when making buys. But national has been down for two years across the country, so that's really nothing new.
I would know... I'm the afternoon guy and (for the moment) holding down the programming fort on WPEZ.
