I looked up on Allan Sniffen's Board that Jeff Z is out at KTU.

Station changes in the wind?? Any speculation?

I think CC will take KTU into more of a Movin' format to match up with it's other stations airing Whoopie's morning show. They have recently dropped all dance currents as everyone knows and are applying a more generic un-New York format of the day.
As discussed earlier, probably to protect CC's queen bee, LITE-FM.
It's a game CC is playing and the listener loses out.

It just seems like KTU is being sacrificed to block WNEW when it could really be it's own threat but that's the problem when one company holds too many cards... somebody is going to be tossed to the wolves so that the top grosser (LTE) can keep its place. Meanwhile, listening to subtle changes in music at WNEW tells me they are finally tweaking the format in a good way.

What kind of tweaking are you hearing?

Mix has been adding a little more top 40 dance to there rotation, IE: Cascada, Jenn Cunetta-come rain come shine, Kelly Clarkson - becasue of you and a few other song that have caught my ears. KTU is now starting to sound like Mix, New York radio ???
