Jefferson Pilot Sold?

Lincoln Financial is large insurance company. Star 94's staffers were told on Monday that Lincoln plans to keep the radio division in place for now; but that Lincoln may or may not keep it after a few years.

Doesn't look like they have any broadcast history- all of their SIC's are pointed towards investment and insurance (I did a little digging in D&B's database).

Afte doing some further noodling around, I found:
Jefferson-Pilot bought by The Lincoln Group for 7.5 Billion in cash and stocks. Jefferson-Pilot Communications, which represents a small part of its holdings, remains intact and apparently unaffected. Editor: And you ask, how is this jock news? Well, Jeff-Pilot, like Susquehanna, are well known for their emphasis on high-profile talent. Let's hope they'll always remain that way.

Another property of Jefferson Pilot is the broadcast rights of ACC and SEC Football in those local markets. It is big in the southeast on Broadcast TV.
