Jefferson Public Radio has acquired KWCA-FM, Mix 101, licensed to Palo Cedro, CA, and serving the Redding market in northern California. Jefferson Public Radio is a network of non-commercial FM stations and translators covering southern Oregon and northern California.

JPN is owned by Southern Oregon University, and Paul Westhelle is the executive director.

They already have one for their news talk format on KJPR 1330 Shasta Lake City

They have Rhythm and News on 89.7, Classics and News on a translator at 96.9 and as mentioned News on 1330. My guess is that Classics and News will go to 101.1 with the translator going to 1330 news.

I spoke to the JPR Executive Director Paul Westhelle today, the news and classics format that is on 96.9/89.7 HD2 will move to KWCA 101.1. The news format will move to 89.7 HD2/96.9

Expect late September to late October before 101.1 comes back on and fires up with JPR

Jefferson Public Radio has closed on its previously announced acquisition of 4.9kW Hot AC KWCA-FM (Mix 101), licensed to Palo Cedro, CA, and serving the Redding market in northern California. Jefferson Public Radio is a network of non-commercial FM stations and translators covering southern Oregon and northern California.
