Jeffry O'Brien show

is apparently coming to an end. I just happened to be driving home from dinner and had KXAM on (too bad I didn't have them on during the food show or I would have eaten at a better restaurant) and heard they are ending the show. All I could get was that someone is moving... then I crossed 16th St.

::)

Well... for as many of you that could give a hoot about my show, many of you have made calls to try for my job...

So I will save ya the time.

Long story short:

At this time I am not leaving KXAM as Operations Manager just yet, it's just time to end the show and move on to the next thing.

But thanks to "twitchy" for noticing.

Best of luck to you, I know we butted heads a few times, but you are a good guy.

I hope you find great success in your future ventures.

It's tough picking up KXAM's signal at the time Jeffry is (or was) on. I would try to listen to Phoenix Roadrunner games every once in a while, but found it nearly impossible to get anything more than a marginal signal up in north Phoenix (32nd street and Union Hills.)

I must say I actually enjoy some of the programming at KXAM. I see Cori James has a weekend show on KXAM. I also like Dave Ramsey. Too bad their signal isnt better cause it does offer an alternative to the same ol same ol DC talk on the am band.

Our signal is actually pretty good... it always amuses us that people talk about the night signal so much.

Daytime is a solid metro wide signal, and nighttime, we not only cover our city of license (Mesa), but most of the entire East Valley (Scottsdale, Chandler, Tempe Gilbert, etc)... and that's where, for the most part, where the money is.

Sure we wish we hit the west side better at night, but we have never had any illusions about it, nor have we ever lied to clients or listeners in an attempt to cover it up (unlike some stations).

We know that during the day, we have sponsors everywhere that get results, and at night we are pleased to see how far out of the east valley some of our listeners have said they can get us... but we make no misrepresentations to be anything but what we are.

But thanks for listening (and trying to listen).

Jeffry, I also wish you great success in your future.

When you first posted here, I went to your website and MySpace page. Your show seemed interested. I tried to listen. Unfortunately, here in the West Valley (On The Poor Side Of Town), I couldn't get the station.
:'(

Thanks Brian, and to all the nice things people have emailed and stuff!

Brian, if you were at my MySpace page, you could have listened to the real audio daily archives any time you wanted. And since you clearly have a computer, you could also listen live at www.kxam.com

If you still want to see what's next... www.myspace.com/thebigblender

OR play with The Blender Buttons at www.thedailyblender.com

Just sayin...

PS: I never said the West Valley was the poor side of town... don't be starting trouble... :D

I do like the blender show and nice to see Cori on the airwaves again. This show needs to be put on middays on KXAM. No more Brian and Judge not my taste.

Thanks for the links Jeffry. Listening to the show now.

Brian4.com from the West Valley, where, for the most part, where the money isn't!

;D
