JELLI (ROCK) SOLD TO RADIO ACTIVO

Radio Online reports Aurora has sold the station to Radio Activo for $3 million, roughly one-third what the owners were asking on e-Bay a couple months ago. Does anyone know if Radio Activo do any English-speaking programming?

Radio Activo does not appear to be the licensee of any other stations, unless under a different corporation.

The station is planning to sign off tomorrow (saturday night) at 12:00am.

Does anyone plan to tape the final moments??

I'd tape it....but I live in Vegas so I can't pick up the station.

94.5 appeared to be off Thursday. 96.7 appeared to be doing some other format??? Or was it off and was I picking up something far away...I was north of town on 95 south of Indian Springs when I checked. I was able to pick these up from this location when they were on the air...I assume from their main transmitter. KF

They were both on the air Thurs. Generally speaking, 94.5 seems to have a smaller footprint than 96.7, so if you picked up something else on 96.7, it's a given that you wouldn't get 94.5 at all.

While driving in Vegas, I saw an electronic billboard that read 94.5 Escucha??? I tuned it in and it was playing music with english lyrics, but had booming spanish in between. More later.

Escucha, Translation: Plase stay tuned, to listen in, to evesdrop. They may have something interesting to do, and say and to play.

I tuned in again today. 94.5 now has latin dance music. The english lyrics are gone and it is total spanish. FYI, 96.7 remains the same english jelli radio... still launching rockets from listeners.

I'm not surprised on the other. My understanding is 96.7 is owned by LKCM Radio Group, so Jelli's contract with them should still be going.

94.5 seemed to be a cursed frequency. Would have been great if the 100000 watt transmitter could have been moved to where the booster broadcasts from now, it would have still been 94.5 The Vibe.
