Jen Burgess gone from ch15?

I have noticed Nicole Beyer has been on daybreak for at least a couple of weeks. I really liked Jen, thought she brought a great vibe to the news.

Her bio is still up, but the Twitter link is gone. Could she be Twittering from the beach now?!?!?

I noticed that too. In fact when Nicole introduces herself at the start of the hour, she no longer says "Nicole Beyer in for Jenn Burgess". I also really like Jenn and hope she's still with 15.

I also liked Jenn, didn't watch her much on 15 cause of schedule. But her page is gone from the site, so that's not a good thing.

Re: Jenn Burgess gone from ch15?

According to Rebecca Thomas on Twitter, Jenn is taking some time off. Brian Webb was sitting in this morning and he didn't say "in for Jenn Burgess."

If it is cosmetic surgery, I hope it's not augmentation (she has such a great appearance to change it), and if it is I HOPE it's not for her career (lots of unsaid stuff there).

Mr Hajji, that is good news that she is coming back. I hope she is doing well and should know that her fans send our best wishes for a speedy recovery and return.

SunS...

Sadly, it sounds like Jenn needs some psychological help. You don't just stop showing up to work in a top 20 market on two separate occasions. She had wonderful anchor jobs that many people would love to have.

Gotta wonder if the pressure of a top-20 market is too much for her. That's twice now she's just up and disappeared from an anchor job in Phoenix...smart money is that the next offer she gets (if she gets another one) is from a much, much smaller market.

I'm not sure if I would take a chance on her in a much smaller market. Every market is stressful these days. In a smaller market, she might find herself doing the news and the weather everyday (as many stations are cutting back severely).

Like I said, *if* she gets another offer. She may well be done after this, which would be too bad. I liked her on 10 and 15, but it seems the confidence she showed onscreen doesn't really exist.

I agree with you -- in my mind, it's a big "IF". Jenn seemed pleasant enough, but most jobs are stressful these days. Often, you must find someone to confide in to relieve the stress. It can be a professional counselor, clergy, or even a good friend.

I never took any TV classes in journalism school, but I doubt they provide a lot of guidance on dealing with stress and/or contract negotiations. We never even discussed the subject in the newspaper classes I took. It was just assumed that you would someday be a washed-up journalist working at some lowly rag newspaper, sipping gin in a bottle wrapped in a brown paper bag. *wink*

My heart goes out to Jenn. As everyone has already pointed out, she seems like a nice enough person. I hope she is able to resolve any lingering issues and find the next job, in or out of television.
