Jen Ursillo has been on Jim Kerr's show on Q104.3 in New York.
The new G-Rock morning show, IMO, is terrible! Mimimal to no real content, zero entertainment value, the two hosts are uninteresting, do not connect with the format, lack chemistry and fail to have any appeal whatsoever.
Perhaps all music and no jocks would better serve the station's budgetary and ratings purposes.

You are right.I try to listen but they are really bad. I flip around the radio until get to work.Any more it`s same old stuff !

I actually like the current GROCK morning show. Although I can only get it in my car, so i don't listen that much. On the contrary, they seem like nice people.who actually like rock music..(and don't talk about themselves like they are gods gift to radio)..I always liked her from her days with Rob Moorehead...(who was my fave) ...
the old GROCK morning show was really bad..when ever I could tune in....derogatory towards alot of people...It's funny I tuned in for the first time because everyone on THIS board was saying how BAD it actually was!!!! .I agree with the previous poster...sounds like "sour grapes". and I believe Shelly is Jim Kerrs partner on 104.3. Has been forever....will be forever I'm sure. More importantly....I'm still looking for Rob's station FYI.......I heard he's back. WHERE????????????

,,,the current G-Rock Morning show team do seem like nice people (off-air)....but they are boring and uninteresting on-air..I think Erin would be better suited with someone who sounded more music savvy and cool...IMO.

Aside from giving heavy rotation to low IQ rockers like Puddle Of Mudd, Velvet Revolver and Sum 41.
But I digress. Though I miss some of the previous staff of G Rock, they have a really solid lineup right now. In addition, the music seems to have improved in a major way. While I still think there's some ways the station can improve (i.e. Actually playing Arcade Fire and Bloc Party since they're giving tickets away for their concerts, playing Silversun Pickups' "Well Thought Out Twinkles" instead of continuing to give heavy spins to the tired "Lazy Eye") they're doing a better job with the new music, playing acts like Editors, VHS Or Beta, She Wants Revenge and others. Better still are the amount of new features added at the station. Revolution Radio (no repeat workdays) really deserves a thumbs up, as does the unpredictable Radio Kaos on Saturday nights. This is why G Rock is sounding the best it ever has under the current ownership. Kudos to Terrie Carr for doing her best despite the notoriously stodgy Press management.

my guess Mr. "Mucksticky" is Press General Manager Wes Matejka...... just a guess...
My earlier observations about the new G-Rock AM show were not personal in nature. I'm a 41 year old sales rep from Oakhurst who spends my commute not loyal to any specific show or station. G-Rock plays a significant amount of music in the morning, but the hosts, despite the individual attributes Mr. Matejka purports, do not equate to a collective sound I find interesting or even genuine to the format and listening experience.

It boils down to a matter of taste. If you are looking for someone to "shut up and play the music" then Kramer and Erin are for you. If you enjoy more personality oriented radio during morning drive, Brian and Jen (warts and all) were probably more your taste. Personally, I am more of a personality guy, but I can also see how Brian and Jen could be abrasive to those who just wanted to hear music and more of it. Brian and Jen had a decent following, and it still remains to be seen how Kramer and Erin will do in a full ratings book, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did well either.

Hilarious... the classic 'pull back' after you're nailed as being a corporate shill. How transparent can you be? I'm not counting songs, but my guess is that B/J played more songs per hour than you're playing now. 'Specially when your boy is plucking his own guitar on the air instead of, well, playing the song. You made the bed... you can decide when it's time to "wash the sheets", or can you?

Anyone who annonymously posts positive feedback about a station they work at without identifying themselves as an employee should be ashamed. I don't know who has done that but bravo to the sharp-eyed posters here who (correctly, IMO) can see thru these types of posts. I saw thru it too and am a total outsider. Give us a break!
