When I was in broadcast school, the idea WAS to dumb it down to the lowest common denominator. Also, to editorialize ("such a sad story...") was verboten too.Sadly, that happens as well.Legend City said:I've never watched, the commercials served as a repellent for me. I just don't care for supposed newscasters acting like wacky children, and dumbing everything down to the lowest possible level.
...and, from what I hear... her stuff is still on her desk back at the station. Either no one's told her, or KSAZ is claiming it as intellectual property.having worked on a morning show before... I can attest, the people on the show have to be easy on the eyes, with no real journalistic creadence whatsoever. No one wants to wake up to a grizzly veteran newscaster, telling them about the days upcoming events. It's like having your science teacher staring at you in your birthday suit...saying good morning. Makes me wonder why Chambo is so liked over at 5. I guess "if" Mara Villa comes back, then maybe it works? Anyway, Burgess was morning show material... the other two on the show have to be on a short leash. The ratio of 2 (older) men, to one (younger) woman never really looked right.
