Jenn Hobby Leaving Star 94

Perhaps the recently launched Bret Mega show will be picked up by Star. After all, importing an out of market morning show hosted by someone using a cheesy fake name has done wonders for Power! (Sarcasm)

Wise move on Jenn's part probably; she read the writing on the wall.

A bit off topic, but I’m wondering what Emily Bolden is doing at Star 94. I’m hearing no discernible changes since she joined a few months ago.

Yes, the music is quite different from what it was several months ago, but that was in progress before she joined.

Audacy laid off the station’s highly regarded PD, and their midday and PM drive jocks, both top notch. And Star is still automated after morning drive.

Ms. Bolden came to Atlanta to work for CMG but had been out of work for over a year. Did she accept the position because she needed a radio job, even if it meant just babysitting?

Is it possible some big changes are still to come? The station in its mostly automated form is getting the same or slightly higher ratings than the version with jocks. And it’s been getting good numbers among Women 35-54. What would be the motivation for spending money on talent?

Ufortunately the Atlanta market has so few market covering FM signals that with the exception of Urban, an operator can put something cheap on and still money.

Exactly! Why spend the money?

Audacy is probably quite happy to see Jen leave. The “morning show” was a joke, and I suspect Jen was voice-tracked.

Mornings at 94 haven’t been anything since Steve & Vikki.
