Yesterday I went to the Phoenix Gay Pride and the headliner was Jennifer Holiday. She looked tremendous and this was the first time I ever heard her live. I would say her voice is even stronger live! She tore the roof down with No thrills love. Then her song I am telling you just put us into orbit. I still do not know how she hits those notes! One cool thing which is why I am posting this here, is what she said about the GLBT community. She said this is the only community that has stood by her through it all. Since she is a black singer, I am sure the black community frowns upont dance songs, remixes. I believe I had heard that about Mariah Carey when she first came out but maybe I am wrong. Anyways, was a joy to see her live and that voice is simply amazing.
