Jerome Gray Now On KPRC

For about 2 to 4 years Jerome Gray was on KHOU just until recently now he is on kprc what next will krpc will do.

Ohhhhh, you mean KPRC-TV. I thought this was about KPRC radio, considering that this is the Houston RADIO board!

Linda Lorelle was a test for KRIV the week she was on. My guess is that she'll eventually be there. KRIV's current weekend female anchor is or will be on maternity leave in the very near future. I wouldn't be surprised if Linda shows up as a temporary replacement. I think KRIV knows that their M-F female anchor Melissa Wilson is no good and has done nothing to their ratings but bring them down over 6 years. Someone over there probably knows that replacing Wilson with Linda Lorelle would be genius move. Well, maybe not. GM D'artagnen Bebel is an 8 iron short of a full set in the competentcy department and still probably does not know the makeup and dynamics of this market, a market he has been GM in for almost 6 years. KRIV has an opportunity RIGHT NOW to get Lorelle into the main anchor chair to capitalize on their new news promotion strength featuring their super duper new weather radar. Knowing what I know about that place, Bebel will blow it.

for Texas TV Board.. NOT Radio-related!

This thread should have been posted to The Texas TV Board.

I reported to the moderators when it came out. Brian (djboutit) doesn't seem to understand where to put a post.

Hey, too much time is spent worrying about where a Houston thread goes. Maybe that's why this board is turning lame and why you are seeing fewer and fewer posts. Who cares where the thread is!

Man the texas tv board is nothing but stuff about dallas any way they need 3 texas tv sections 1 for dallas 1 for houston 1 every where elese in texas.

I don't understand why everyone is getting so bent out of shape about this. If you're not interested in it, don't read it ... just like you would with any other post on this board. The others are correct when they say the Texas TV is too Dallas-centric ... and, plus, many folks (like me) are interested in the local TV and radio scenes. No need to start WWIII over something so minor.

When I read the post, it states KPRC. That was enough for me to look. Since this is radio board, I assumed it was about KPRC radio. It would not have been the 1st time that someone moved from TV to radio. When I opened, I discovered I wasted my time. I wouldn't have bothered to open it if it had been about Channel 2. Of course, I'm wasting my time right now, even responding to this foolishness. However, in an effort to school you, I will take the time.

If its radio, it belongs on the radio board. If its TV, it belongs on the TV board. What's hard about that? Do you put forks and knives in the spoon section of your utensil drawer? Do you park your car between the lines in a parking lot or do you park it haphazardly? It's about being orderly, that's all.

I might be a little old school with this, but I think it's a dumb idea to have separately owned radio and TV stations with the same calls in the same market. I understand the current rules, and don't mind same calls in different markets, but either 950 or Channel 2 should have flipped their calls when the original split happened. Yeah, I know KPRC is a historic call for the Houston market, but it lacks the same aura as the ancient three-letter calls elsewhere (WOR, WBZ, WLS, WGN, KFI, KNX, etc.)

Maybe it's because DFW is the state's largest market.
At any rate, there are 6 Houston posts on page 1, and 4 DFW posts.
