In the Arizona Republic, the "B" section is local news. The last (back) page has weather. The report references the KPNX Weather Team and shows their name and small pictures of each. Its been like this since at least 2002.

On Sunday 27 December I noticed there were three names/pictures: James Quinones, Sarah Walters and Caribe Devine. I knew Jerrid Sebesta's picture was there at one point. I wondered if Sebesta left the station but I saw him doing weather on Monday 28 Dec and as recently as today (30 Dec). I checked back and saw that his picture was there 22 Dec but not 23 Dec.

Anybody have any idea of the status of Jerrid Sebesta?
 
He definitely did the 10pm weather last night. He did traffic on the morning newscast earlier this week as well. He's very good and actually should be Chief Met at 12. Honestly, I'm not impressed by Jimmy Q. I think the hiring of Jimmy Q was simply to add a Hispanic presence on the main newscasts.

Tonight, on 12 News at 10, Brahm Resnick announced that tonight is Jerrid's last weathercast at 12 News. He is going to take a job in Minneapolis. As they say, Phoenix's loss is Minneapolis' gain. It is truly sad to see such a great weather talent leave the Valley! :'(

By the way, former 2 News met (Flagstaff) Lee Born made did the Saturday evening weather on 12 News.

I wonder if 12 is going to formally replace Jerrid. When they hired him, the economy was good and NBC WeatherPlus was a big deal. Now that both have collapsed, I wonder if 12 is going to have a 4th weathercaster. Or, perhaps, they will just use a fill-in (Lee Born or Ron Meritt) as needed.
 
According to Sebesta's bio he is originally from up there in frozen-land. Looks like he's going home.

Yes, Brahm mentioned that Jerrid was going home, but that the weather right now wouldn't be nearly as nice as Phoenix (yesterday's high in Minneapolis was 12).

It's not all that much worse than any of the other stations, except -- perhaps -- FOX 10 which has been very stable over the past 5 years. CBS 5 has had a complete turnover in their weather staff over the past few years at least once. 3 TV has switched out a couple of people over the past 3 or 4 years. ABC 15 has switched out their morning and weekend weather anchors. 12 News has lost Amy Brooke as well.
