JERRY BARRETT PASSES

Sorry to report that longtime record rep vet and awesome guy Jerry Barrett lost his battle with cancer last night...he had just found out a few months ago he had terminal liver cancer. Those of us ol' timers remember the great times with Jerry..he was larger than life. Condolences to friends and family in Texas. And thanks to Patty Martin for keeping me posted.

Sad to hear we've lost Jerry. He used to call on me my last trip through KAKC/Tulsa. Then, my first week at WNOE-FM, there he came, rumbling into Bobby Reno's PD office with his usual jolly goodwill. He really knew the music he was promoting, and you could always count on him to help you run down any background info or missing music you might need. Am sure he slowed down in later years...but if he was even a shadow of his 1970s self, I imagine the distillers of Amaretto de Saronno are wearing black arm bands this Christmas.

Jerry was a great pro & a crazy MF. The lad could PARTY. He worked KAKC, KOMA, & WFMF when I was there. He will be missed.
BTW: Weird, Scoot tells me you are up to no good in Gulfport, etc. Good to see you're still hangin' in there.
