Jerry Springer insists he isn't looking for absolution from the raucous television show he's hosted for 15 years. Other points in the article:
- It says Jerry lives in Sarasota. But, he does the TV show in Cincinnati. Reportedly, he does the radio show from Chicago and Cincinnati. Supposedly, he may run for office from Ohio. He's signed to do a game show for British TV. No wonder the show sounds thin.
- Jerry says the trash TV show "opened doors" for him to be a progressive talk radio host (and to speak at a Democractic Party fundraiser).
- Jerry says the trash TV show is "just a job." Like working in Bobby Kennedy's campaign, reading news on TV or being mayor of Cincinnati (a largely ceremonial post). Just a job? Like in The Godfather: "Nothing personal; just business." Like a Nurembeg: "I was only following orders."
- Jerry says people are starting to separate radio Jerry from TV Jerry. He says the guy on TV is his twin, Terry (whom, he says, people think is "crazy").
