Jerry Del Core Out in Atlanta

Former Clear Channel Sacramento VP has been booted from a similar position here in Atlanta. In less than two years, ratings and revenue collapsed under Del Core's watch at all of the Atlanta properties. Was wondering, what was his reputation in Sacramento? People were shocked that he got the job and even more surprised he lasted more than a year.

[EDIT]Simply put. Jerry Del Core was like so many at Clear Channel, an exscape goat. He was one of the smartest people Atlanta had. Clear Channel is going to continue getting rid of the good people[EDIT]

[EDIT=two personal attacks.]

Maybe you can hire him, quick before he signs on at Arby's.

You don't consider working at Arby's a Personal Attack? The First Amendment is crying in it's hate filled coffin.

Jerry is a sharp guy.
Atlanta is a tough market for many reasons. The CC CEO John Hogan has a vested interest in the market, as he was Market Manager there prior to his rise in the CC ranks. Additionally, Jerry replaced one of Hogan's guys there, so his work has faced extra scrutiny. Also, the ATL programming has been a mess for a few years, which has made revenue growth even more challenging.

All I know the "mess" in Atlanta had 40% more listeners and 21 plus million dollars more in revenue when Del Core arrived than they do today thanks to his ineptitude.

Jerry's a nice guy. I've worked with him and I've competed with him. But anyone who thinks he was capable of managing Clear Channel's Atlanta portfolio is out of their mind. Jerry couldn't cut it in Norfolk, Raleigh or Sacramento. How would he survive in Atlanta?

The truth is, Jerry's termination was no surprise. It was his promotion to Atlanta in the first place that speaks volumes about Clear Channel's inability to attract good people.

There's a reason Clear Channel's stock has lost two thirds of its value in six years, and it ain't their facilities.

Exactly my point, if he couldn't cut it in those other markets why did they put him in Atlanta?

As far as Clear Channel's 66% drop in shareholder value, two words: JOHN HOGAN
