Jerry Gaule

Let me start by saying that the foremost reason for this thread is not to promote a program or a radio station, but rather, the concern of a radio veteran whom I have not heard from for awhile.

Recently, I started carrying a music program on my Internet radio station hosted by a gentleman by the name of Jerry Gaule. Granted, I operate a talk station, but for what it's worth, I do run some music programming. This guy approached me on his own through Myspace, asked me to give the show a listen. I later added it to the schedule and downloaded new shows.

Then there were no updates. For awhile.

I'm starting to wonder if he is okay, or even alive.

It's approaching a month with no contact, and I thought I'd post this thread, in the hopes that someone in the broadcasting industry had any whereabouts, or at least shared my concern. He did mention on his Myspace page that he's an acquaintance of many fellow broadcasters, so hopefully someone can chime in.

The below statement is from his Myspace page...

"Hello.. My name is Jerry..I currently live in Albany Oregon (90 Miles south from Portland. I am a retired radio broadcaster (30 years) ... I enjoy life, cooking and music collecting. I am disabled but Amateur Radio has helped me much)... I worked at many great NW stations...KXPC-FM/KRKT-AM-FM/KLOG-AM/KWBY-AM/KORE-AM/KFIR-AM/KCKX-AM/KWIP-AM... Clear Channel (Albany-Corvallis,OR) /KHPE-FM/KWIL-AM... and so on... I have also worked with many greats... from Paul Revere/Raiders,Kingsmen,Beach Boys, Temptations, Coasters, Drifters, Jimmie Rodgers, Larry Hall...and TOO MANY to mention...and great dj's as well...."

Just PM'd you with what I believe is his most current email address.

I share your concern and sincerely hope that he is okay.

Im guessing he went off due to stress. I never heard from him again.

I had to send this because my Comcast is down...there are things going on and so I am really trying to make the sound right with this mic or that mic...or this or that...I all appreciate your inputs...really...and doing it right...I have had some real sharp criticisms...very negative...I cannot say who.....and other things...according to this person they feel that my show resembles too much to the other show..I used to do...I cannot even mention the name...because I would be sued...no joke...it is giving me a real headache..I never would have ever foreseen this...with a combination of things...it is beyond me..I had good intention forgive me of this inconvenience....please understand...

I will cease all operations..I do not blame you if you get upset...I am very sorry...Jerry please take care..please respond to this e mail address...

Wow. I never received that email.

As you can imagine, the show is replaced on my schedule starting next month.

Can we try and figure out what "other" show it resembled? To me, it sounded like it was one-of-a-kind - and I don't really mean that in a negative way.

I thought at one time i knew his other shows name but i cant remember. However,
Jerry is Back on the Air! His show and station are back at the same website. So He is
still very much Alive.

And doing well, I might add. I have recentily e-mailed Jerry regarding the possiblity of adding his "Moldie Oldies" show to my station. It will be added to the schedule on our non-commercial, oldies station WXRB-FM (*95.1, Dudley/Webster, MA) beginning this Saturday night at 9:00 PM, with an encore on Sunday nights at 7:00PM (just before the old time radio block at 8:00 PM). If you're in the Southern Worcester County area of Massachusetts or Northeastern Connecticut, you're invited to tune in. It's a rather unique show and quite down to earth in the presentation. I was not disappointed. I'm sure the audience will enjoy it.
