Jerry Kristafer out at 102.9 DRC-FM

CC didn't let Mr. Ray go. In fact, they asked him to stay.

No, I don't mean Clear Channel, I meant Buckley. The company has taken on a different flair since Rick Buckley's passing. I'd be Tom would have stayed with them but likely they wouldn't be able to pay him for his worth without any big anchor stations like WOR and its sister radio network. Buckley lost a very knowledgeable engineer. I wouldn't be surprised if Tom left if what I've heard about their morale problems are true - assuming I believe the few CC engineers I network with on a regular basis.

And as for 'DRC's audio, Scott's been fighting a CHRONIC audio issue for months. I noticed it this weekend jumping from clean & great sounding to ratty & flat. Believe me ... it's being worked on and knowing the type of Engineer Scott is, it's keeping him up at night.

There's always a finite reason for things going awry, be it phone or T1 lines, a poor STL path, transmitter issues or what have you. I had gone through that at one station but simply just pushed the powers at be to correct it. All letting things linger does is reaffirms that the station cares little about its product. In fact, I wasn't the one who claimed WDRC meant We Don't Really Care!

I URGE you to get the facts before you sit here and .... oh wait, for a split second I forgot who I was replying to. Nevermind.

The facts speak for themselves! I've got dozens of recorded airchecks where that station sounded fine, which wasn't the case with the most recent handful of times I listened. Then again, as an engineer I suppose I have a more critical ear than a typical run of the mill listener.
