Jerry Lewis Telethon?

Is there a list of stations which will be carrying the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon this weekend? I believe it'll be on WTIC-TV/DT (FOX) channel 61/D 31 of Hartford for at least the fourth straight year.

Kevin according to FOX61.COM and CW20.COM the telethon will be on 9PM-10PM on WB 20 (As they still call it). Then from 10:45PM until 630PM it will be on FOX 61.

Also, in the station list, WKAQ, Telemundo's Puerto Rican flagship, will also carry the telethon (as they did the past 13 years). Considering that the telethon's predominantly English (other than, last year, Don Francisco's plea to have Hispanic viewers make pledges), how does the Spanish-language WKAQ do it each year?

Can someone tell me how the money made during the telthon is calculated. it seems somewhat odd to me. Is ithe grand total estimated somewhat? The reason I ask this question is because when the grand total is announced my local love network affiliate kep taking pledges for an hour and a half and WGN is still running the end on tape-delay and also still taking pledges.

Also is the telethon shown live in the Pacific Time Zone where it originates (in Las Vegas)?

The only real oddity is that some stations, like WGN Chicago and WFTS Tampa hack up the show. The Cubs bump Jerry in Chicago and Local News pushes Jerry back in Tampa, though locally both stations run till 8 pm eastern

on a side note, whoever is responsible for Jerry Lewis return to health should get a bonus. After all that man has been through in the last six years, he looked and sounded remarkably good for an 80 year old. Even the old borscht-belt comics like Norm Crosby had their A game last night...I'm sure the energy was boosted by the shows return to Vegas after being bumped by CBS Television City in Hollywood, where they had been for years.

As far as Jerry's voice and appearance that was my first thought to. Was this them an who had a heart attack just two months ago? Wow. I was very impressed. He looks like he is 65 at the very most.

Of course I didn't realize that Gary Lewis is Jerry's son and It was great to see him sing on TV last night. A couple highlights of the telethon were that ventrilaquist with the dragon puppet (very funny), Jerry Lewis being presented the key to the city of Las Vegas, and Jerry Lewis singing a duet with Dean Martin's lovely daughter.

I know there will come a day where a cure is found for all neuromuscular disease. I pray that that happens in Jerry's lifetime. Even if not, after that pont I think Labor Day should be renamed in honor of Jerry Lewis who has taken a holiday used for political rhetoric and used it to unite all of humanity fighting against terrible and horrible diseases, epscially those in children.

In Tampa Bay, WFTS (whose telethon also now covers Manatee and Sarasota, since WWSB dropped it this year) broke away for golf on ABC at 3PM, returning to Jerry at 6PM. They didn't even start the telethon unti, 9AM today (9/4). Personally, I watched mostly WGN's coverage (even though the telethon intro was two hours old when they started last night (9/3)).

That won't happen as long as George W. Bush is President as knowing the Republicans, they'll find a way to put a negative spin on it. :(

Look at what they do to PBS every chance they get as a shining example of my point.

Not to get political here BUT....

Cheers :D
