Jerry Riopelle Joins RFP Airstaff !

Move over Alice, Dee and Little Steven, it's the Jerry Riopelle show on Radio Free Phoenix !

Riopelle, a Phil Spector protege, went on to enjoy substantial local airplay in the 70's, courtesy of Bill Compton and the original KDKB

Jerry will debut on the RFP airwaves on Radio Freedom, the guest DJ show which broadcasts Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 3. The lovely "Sweet Naomi" joins Jerry as his co-host.

Riopelle, who is featured on the cover of New Times next week, will celebrate New Year's Eve with his traditional concert at the Celebrity Theatre.

For those unable to make the concert, tune into Radio Free Phoenix, New Year's Eve, for a special Riopelle retrospective hosted by Andy Olson. In this rare radio broadcast, Jerry makes himself comfortable inside the RFP studios to share the stories and the songs. Naomi, a compelling personality in her own right, adds her perspective to the music, as well.

Very cool! Looking forward to hearing Riopelle on Radio Free Phoenix. This is a great station, they never cease to amaze me!

Good show. Love Jerry but I think they should hire Naomi, she was a hit.
Andy Olson keeps surprising us with not only the existence of this station but the fact that it seems to be flourishing. Glad to hear they have sponsors now.

Wonderful Russ

I thought Wonderful Russ was to have some involvement with Radio Free Phoenix.
I'm a fan from his days on KDKB and later, KSLX with Bob Boze Bell.

Can someone confirm this ?

Russ has just completed the station's imaging. You should be hearing him after the first of the year.

Also, coming soon to RFP, Wonderful Russ and Love Workshop.

Re: Wonderful Russ

Wonderful Russ, now there's a voice. And if you don't like him, you can fire him.
I think Radiofreephoenix.com is an incredible undertaking. There's a clear difference in the sound and feel of a radio station when the motivations are purely artistic and altruistic. Andy, Russ, Liz, Dave, Cheryl, and Jerry, we are listening. Thanks for representing the Valley in being part of the revolution.
There's a device that will soon be able to bring internet radio to the car that will pick up wi-fi signals. Can't wait for the technology to arrive.
