Jerry Thomas

Anyone know if Jerry Thomas is still in the Dallas area? He was on ABC radio's pure gold on Sat. nights with cruisin' U.S.A. till he was moved to Sunday mornings, then he vanished. He called himself "The Cool Fool"

JT, "The Cool Fool" is doing well. He's still in Dallas and is still quite the sales pro. And "the girl" is doing well after recovering from open heart surgery a couple of years ago.

I remember Jerry Thomas from his days at the old KLUE in Longview, From there he went to a stint at a Mississippi radio station, and he then began to fly. He was always a mover (and a shaker), so the fact that he's still doing well is no surprise.

Jerry was also on KBOX at night in the 60's, I think he went by "Jerry Knight"...
then to KILT Houston filling in at night for Steve Lundy while he was recovering.
He was at KLIF in 1975 doing weekend all-nights, then segued over to KVIL doing weekend overnights for a while...long before SMN, ABC.

That's great! Although I'm oldies fan, he played R&B, and doo wop, which I fell in love with. Sill wish he was on the air playing that great stuff. Thanks for the responce.

The dude loved what he was doing! What better prerequisite is there? If you've got
a pair of dice hanging from your rear view you can do lang ,do lang ,do lang with the
best of 'em.

That's right. At one time he also used the name John D'Azzo.

Did Jerry step down at ABC or was he forced off? It made no sense to move a show like his from Saturday nights to 6am Sunday mornings. Anyhow, the cool fool's delivery and quick wit was fun to listen to. I remember one night he told a 12 year old boy who called in a request, and he told Jerry that this song was for his woman, and he told the boy about marriage.. It's cheaper to get into one, than to get out of one.
