Jess Cain

saw a note on the BRI that Jess Cain is battling advanced bone cancer, currently in Chilton House in Cambridge, an assisted living facility.

notes to Jess -

Chilton House, 65 Chilton Street, Cambridge, MA 02138.

thoughts and prayers to Jess and his family.

I had the opportunity to speak with Jess for a little while this afternoon, and those pipes were just as smooth and dulcet as ever. He's probably outfoxed the doctors on this one, and my prayers are that he continues to do so. He is a legend in the business, and one of the highlights of my professional career was working with him for a couple of years. Why the hell he isn't in the Radio Hall of Fame is a little beyond me too. Those prayers that Chuck referenced are not out of place, so keep 'em coming.

Jess Cain was honored at Massasoit Community College last May and inducted into the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. More info He is truly a legend in the biz. Best wishes and prayers go out to him and his family.
