JESUS...JUST ANOTHER BRAND ON THE FM BAND???

While driving around the area the past couple of months, I've been noticing signs on people's lawns and even on the lawn of one church that reads "JESUS 101.7 FM"...

Here in Bflo, we have JACK, while in other parts of the country there are other first name formats littering the FM band like BOB, HANK, and DAVE. Needless to say, my curiosity was peaked and after doing a bit of investigating, I found my worst fears didn't come to light...

WLOF 101.7 is a Catholic radio station that runs many varied programs designed to spread and bolster the faith for the many Catholics in WNY. I've even seen a thread on the religion board about its programming, etc. Imagine my relief when I found out that the station was not like the other first name brand stations or that, at worst, it would be a religious version of WNIA where jocks would have apostles' names and JESUS would be a part of jingles and promos...

Hopefully next time WLOF comes out with a promotional campaign, they'll be less likely to trivialize Jesus' name, inadvertant as it may have been...

Agreed...but somehow it sounds better than the Salem-owned talk-and-teaching-1.0-share station that recently rand a billboard campaign touting...

"Radio that'll scare the hell outta you".

Dear jfc40ts,,,,,,,,,,,I would say that with limited resources WLOF put together a very good campaign to attract more listeners.......

They even got YOU to tune in.

Too bad the Spot couldn't do that! :-[ (they needed more radio announcers anyway.)
