Dothan / Wiregrass JetStream Media buying WZTZ (Elba/Enterprise)?

The owner of JetStream Media announced in late July that he was buying 101.1 in Enterprise Alabama and planned to enter into an LMA August 15th. He posted earlier today (Saturday August 16th) that the station has flipped.

I don’t see any FCC filings yet.

Tuning into classic hits stations, I now hear songs I played on the radio as currents in the 2001-2007 year ranges. I guess those songs are about as old as the Beatles were in the 80's when stations started flipping to oldies in droves, but, yeah, it definitely stings a little!

I believe the station is still transmitting from a temporary site at reduced power after losing it spot on the old WKMX tower which was damaged by high winds and had to be torn down.

Oh, I knew KMX moved to a tower site in Dothan several years ago, but I didn't know it was due to storm damage. That's good to know.

Actually WKMX moved before their original tower was damaged but WZTZ continued to lease a spot on it until it had to be torn down.

KMX had a huge signal off that old tower. Usually made it to Montgomery.

A town water tank in Elba is where they are, 3kw at ab out 45 meters with a two bay antenna, i recall reading

Yeah, I remember the old station being a good listen basically from Bay Minette up to Montgomery on I-65. I used to regularly hear them during tropo all over Baldwin County but they're definitely a much-rarer catch nowadays. I think WDJR is about the only Dothan-area station I still hear regularly.
