JILL-FM management changes

So Visotcky is gone?!?!? No longer on the web site as GM. Heck, I thought he would last a year before he had to go elsewhere.

ANyone familiar with Tom Hoyt? He is now listed as the GM. What does this mean for the programming/format?

Tom was GM at KFRG 95.1 . As mentioned in an earlier thread by David, Jill's owners utilized a good consultant to gain success at the "frog" when they owned it so hopefully needed changes will come to Jill (?)

I think it takes money to keep Bob V. around, something that Jill FM and Amaturo might not exactly have.

Assuming they were going to run the stations separately, what format would you put on each station???

Fountain Valley =
Adelanto =
the other one =

???

2 am post?? Insomnia? :^D

Fountain Valley = AAA [real AAA not the "AAA"/classic rock heard on 100.3]
Adelanto = country
the other one [Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village] = AAA simulcast of "Fountain Valley"

While 92.7 FM KJLL has Fountain Valley as the city of license, I doubt they actually have an office located within the city limits. Amaturo in the past got in trouble with the FCC for a similar violation. They have offices in Thousand Oaks and in Lake Forest [Orange County].
Since again the audience for a real Adult Alternative audience is still unserved in SoCal, I would use the OC transmitter (off the 72 tollway around the Newport Beach/Irvine boundary) to serve the OC audience. I assume some of the OC signal is usable in parts of LA county as well. The Thousand Oaks transmitter would serve eastern Ventura County and the western San Fernando Valley. They also should capitalize on emphasis of their Internet stream for those many pockets throughout The Southland unable to hear the over-the-air signal of the station.

Regarding Adelanto, what a mistake Amaturo made in giving up their Inland Empire presence to a repeater of Air1 (Christian Contemporary) in the Riverside area. I would dump the Adelanto license if at all possible.

If all three signals combined can't pull any decent ratings, how do you think only one of them would do? And listening would be horrible! I can already imagine driving in LA listening to the signal from Fountain Valley bleeding through the signal in Thousand Oaks

Or the Thousand Oaks, Malibu booster bleelding into Orange County/Fountain Valley. That has been a topic of discussion on this board before.

I don't think Arturo should dump their Adelanto License at all! They should keep there Adelanto station and go head to head with KZXY-FM Y102. Y102 is all automated except for their Morning Show and Afternoon show. So, I say start off the 92.7 with hot A/C music with a morning show from 5am to 10am then automated from 10am to 3pm then have a real live person in the studio from 3pm to 7pm. Then have some type of local request and dedication show from 7pm to Midnight to go up against the John Tesh show on KZXY FM.

i think they need to appeal to a local audience, and the only way to fix that is to have each station go local. ads for some restaurant up in thousand jokes, does me absolutely no good down here in mission viejo. the only thing radio has left is to appeal to a local audience. they really need to fix these stations or just sign them off the air... right now they are useless and their ratings tell the whole story.

Due respect, he signed the deal, so he knew what he was getting into. He spent nearly 5 years selling lighted real estate signs in SD waiting for someone to give a 4th chance at LA radio....
