Jill FM

Are they still looking for a buyer? I could see why, this thing isn't useful for anyone unless you live in OC, Thousand Oaks/Ventura or Victorville.

But at least it isn't costing the owner much to run. Then again, is he really even making any money? All the ads I hear are strictly local, no national.<P ID="signature">______________

I'm in the Dallas area.

I assume Jill a female-oriented Jack?

Would it be more successful in your opinion if the station covered the LA area with a better signal?

Obviously, if Jill has practically no ratings, few national accounts are going to come "her" way.

In this game, it's ratings ... or the highway.

That is what they think. With no ratings, it is hard to judge.

It essentially covers non of LA County. The Orange County signal is limited, an ddoes not even cover all of the OC. The other two are out of metro, in Ventura County and in the High Desert.

Correct. And with such separated signals, they have no real local impact for retail.

I heard he wanted a ridiculous price - like $100 million or something. No one will pay that. If you look at stick value, a full Class B is probably worth $300 million on the high side - so considering it barely covers 20% of the metro (Conejo Valley and Victorville) are useless for the L.A. metro - it's probably worth less than $40 million.

Sadly, it could be used as a local Orange County station and be very viable - but I think they have a dream that it is more than that.

IMHO, it was more useful before he moved the signals around. At least they had a nice signal that covered the Riverside metro - and that market is WAY underserved locally. David is right, the OC signal doesn't even fully cover that county. I do think it could survive as a local signal - but it would not be able to get any kind of national accounts.
