Jim Boyd to sign off.

When I was a wee young lass, about 6 yrs old...(I'm 37 now) kids in the neighborhood collected money for Muscular Distrophy, it must have been Telethon day, when we brought the cash in, and Jim Boyd was doing news segments in the parking lot. And as we were there Boyd himself saw me and wanted to talk to me on the air about collecting the money and all that jazz....I was scared and didn't want to do it, my mom kept trying to console and and get me to do it, but I think my mother made the mistake of telling me that everyone will see me LOL. Jim himself even talked to me for a few minutes but I didn't want to do it.

Shoot, that could've been my catalpult in the a huge career of modeling.........NOT! lol

Yeah, he's a good guy. I met him once when I was a kid. Ch. 5 came up to Portsmouth for a day and did all their newscasts live out by the water. I particularly remember Jim being there.

Wow! I remember watching Jim during the 80's in Boston on the Eyeopener and Noon newscasts. He was always a very professional newscaster. I wish him well in retirement!
