Jim Carson Dead

On the same day as Shaune McNamara Steele, word that Jim Carson (KBLA, KHJ, KIQQ, KLIT, KRTH) has passed.

Jim had emergency surgery for a brain bleed two days ago.

He voiced the Drake-Chenault "Contemporary MOR" reels back in the early 80's as well.

Very sudden. I just saw him earlier this month. He was one nicest and most talented guys in the business.

When I was a teenager, I first heard him as Vic Grayson and later as Vic Gee on little 1490 KBLA, and then years later as Jim Carson on 1360 KGB. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing...

Had a great year at K-Earth 101 working with Jim, Gary Bryan, Shotgun Tom Kelly, Rick Thomas, Charlie Tuna, Dave Randall, Keith Smith and others. . Jim was one of those guys who truly appreciated where he was, never raised a fuss about the changes we were making to the music and celebrated his amazing wins. His attitude was amazing, and its sad to hear of his passing. Rest In Peace, Jim.
