Jim Fox on WDJO

It only says he is on the air today and tomorrow. He was selling real estate in Georgia a few years ago after leaving the station he worked at where he was known as Jim Dixon. Ted may be on vacation this week, guess we will see

He was the city’s #2 morning host when fired by B105 in 2000 after being convicted in Xenia of soliciting sex from a 14-year-old girl he had met on the Internet — who turned out to be an undercover police officer.

Former Q102 Jock is doing Middays on 1480 as He is talking over for Ted Macalister.

If you have access to Cincinnati.com here is the full article from John Kiesewetter.

Someone had told me that he got into some kind of trouble a few years ago....

Oh my. So many lines to use. I shall refrain.

Welcome back Jim. Get well Ted.

"Hello, Jim... This is Chris Hanson, Dateline NBC. Have a seat... No, no, leave the towel on. The plate of cookies are a prop.... So, did you know that she was 14?"

I waited on him at the Steak 'n Shake in Anderson Township way way back when Q102 was actually popular. He rolled up in his Corvette - everyone under 30 in the restaurant knew who he was. I took his order just like any other customer but he just couldn't stand not being noticed. Finally he blurted out "Do you know who I am? I'm Jim Fox." I said "So what?"

I don't remember if he left any tip.

That's really a shame. He's been off the air in Cincinnati for a long time. With Voice Tracking, you'd think He could make himself sound good. He was great on Q102 and then later with Bubba Bo on B105 in mornings.

We can agree to disagree on a lot of stuff. And kudos to Fox for doing a freebie, but by all objective standards it was bad. No momentum. Multiple thoughts per break, little mic prep causing needless excess chatter. I loved him as a fan on Q. Respected the hell out of him as a competitor on B, and tried to learn from him during his brief time at KRC. This time around was just bad.. Shame. I had the ole drr ready to catch it for posterity. All that said... I know..."who cares"? Just us geeks.

So, they got what they paid for and he got to produce a new demo disc.

I am going to have side with Marty. Marty, I have listened to you for years and you have programmed great radio stations over the years. I did not hear the show, but, Marty would not mislead us about something like this..... If Marty says it is so, it is so. Yes, I listened to Jim Fox for years and I thought he was a great broadcaster, even when he was not on Q. I loved Q in the 70's and the early to mid-80's. Q was really, really popular in those days and a great station and tons of fun. Q had an awesome lineup, I liked Pat Barry, until I found out that he is a royal jerk. unlike Marty who is a good guy. Yeah, Pat had talent, but had too much of an ego. Mark Sebastian was much more popular, not even close and much nicer. YET, as a former county officer, I cannot and will not excuse Fox from trying to take advantage of a teen-ager. Pat was a jerk, but, even Pat did not go after teenage girls, as far as I am aware, Disgusting.

To Clarify--I was not trying to slam Jim--- Just saying I was disappointed in the performance-- heck we all have bad days. I was hoping to get some cool audio--- I decided not to save what I recorded because is was not good--

BTW--- on to something that matters--- Congrats to the GRR team--- The Midwest LOVES Classic Hits/Oldies--- GRR follows KLOU and WMJI to the top spot. C'mon WRIT bring it home tomorrow!
