Jim Mandich Battling Cancer

Get Well Mad Dog! You have a lot of people praying for you.

My father survived bile duct cancer. Here's hoping Jim can do the same. It's an old sports axiom that nobody loses a job to injury. Sucks that Mandich's retirement is being pushed by this illness.

He's one of South Florida's true gems. I worked with him briefly as a young fellow when he was at WIOD in the early 90's. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Jim Mad Dog Mandich is a South Florida radio icon. Started listening to the Mad Dog in the 80's on the once great 610 WIOD with Joe Zagacki, Hank Goldberg, Rick Weaver, Sonny Hirsch, Henry Barrow, ect.. He was a great additional to the Miami Dolphins broadcasts, and is a one of a kind. He was kind to his co-workers and generous to his fans. Wish him well. Hope he is well enough to continue on the Dolphins broadcast, which is his passion.
