Jim Mora quits FSR

It was reported in yesterday's Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Jim Mora has left Fox Sports Radio over his comments from a few weeks back when he called Michael Vick a "coach-killer" and the ensuing controversy that followed (Mora's son is Vick's coach with the Atlanta Falcons). I noticed he was gone last weekend and in his place was Lincoln Kennedy from the NFL Network.

I guess this proves once again that when the tough gets going, Mora quits! (He quit in the middle of the season as coach of the Saints once). For one, I'm going to miss him. I thoroughly enjoyed him on FSR on the weekends.

yeah he was alright. he actually didn't say the words coach-killer the co-host said it and he agreed.
but he's really loyal to that kid of his so he probably didn't want to causing him any more problems then he already has.

Mora Jr. told Chris Dimino of 790 The Zone in Atlanta that his dad realized pretty much as soon as he made those comments that he shouldn't have made them. Jr. says his dad talked to "second in command" at FSR and asked them not to send that clip out to media outlets so as to kinda sweep it under the rug. Mora Sr. was supposedly told that they would honor his request, but they actually did not. Jr. said that his dad didn't think he could work for someone who showed a lack of integrity as he thought FSR showed in that situation.

Just thought I'd pass that along, FWIW.

Considering the other stuff out there, Mora's comments were no big deal. I liked his work, and I was very sorry he resigned.
