Jim Nettleton passes.

Jim Nettleton has been on WFIL n Philly for years until he went to New York City at WABC in the early 70's and then to WPIX-FM during the 70's.

He also narrated a story called "Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus" which was based on an article from the New York Sun back in 1897 and later made into a TV special from 1974. Jim Nettleton did a great job narrating the holiday story. I remember Jim Nettleton's "Yes Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus" when it was heard on CBS-FM back in the 90's, it was second next to Harry Harrison's "May You Always". I missed them all, but there is an audio of Jim Nettleton telling the story of "Yes Virginia" is on the Famous 56 website.

RIP :(

bill1820...thank you for the great link!

And rereading my earlier post, I think my line about the "Wibbage Good Guy" could be misunderstood. I should have said although Jim was never a Wibbage Good-Guy (in the scence of the original Radio 99, as was reported online) I was remiss in including he certainly WAS integral in the resurrection of WIBG-FM 94.3 at the shore. Jim was proud of his contibutions there. I wish the station much success.
