Jim Steele

Anyone know where Jim Steele or David Attwood might be now? Both where at KQID years ago. I heard Jim was in Shreveport a few years back.

Hey Z, David Atwood here, and yeah I was at KQID for some years. I was brought in to do afternoons by then-PD Ron Harper around '80 I believe; back then it was 93QID, and Jim Steele was middays and MD, (and wow, the pipes he had). Last I heard Jim was back in the Monroe area I think. Eventually Russ Mitchell came in to be PD, then the Legendary "Ugliest Muthuh in Rock n' Roll, The Good Doctor, Grady Brock" was brought in to be PD and mornings. It was a trip getting to work with Doc, a big ol' historic trip, and it was a great ride. After Doc I was PD and did mornings with Vic Vead as "Atwood and the Captain". after a few years I moved on to Z98 in Baton Rouge, then to Fox 97 in Atlanta. Now I do voiceover work full-time based in Baton Rouge and loving life. There are a few things I miss about radio, and I occasionally get the fever to jock again, especially when I hear some syndicated monkey mispronounce a local name. Thanks for asking, and keep passing the open windows.

Dave..you forgot one PD they had in like 84. KQID had gone from like a 22 share to a 13. This guy brought em back up 5 shares. Course, he would never get any credit for it---:))

As perhaps evidenced by the enduring WJBO spot for Calendar's Coursey Blvd. restaurant, voiced by one Rush Hudson Limbaugh III: "...Sherwood at KER-see".

/Where?
