Radio's Jingle Giant Jim West Passes
Jim's Work Produced Some Of Radio's Best Jingles
AllAboutCountry is sad to note the passing of Industry Titan Jim West, who died peacefully this morning (3/27), following a long battle with Parkinson's, COPD and Prostate Cancer. He was 84.
Some of the best jingles ever produced came during Jim's tenure at PAMS and TM in Dallas. He later became involved in syndication with Fairwest and Music Of Your Life.
Jim's daughter, Claire West Parr and his son, Steve West, said, "Dad's struggle with Parkinson's, COPD and prostate cancer was tough. While his body was ravaged - his mind was sound and sharp....and he was blessed to have that. We had a long discussion on Sunday night about this journey - and you all know how proud he was of his contributions to research for Parkinson's and the difference he made in so many peoples lives. He adored his 3 grandsons and took enormous pride in their accomplishments."
Memorials are being arranged and AAC will pass along that information when available.
