I understand there's a lot of this going on in the past week or two, but no, MWC, I don't get a list, especially from mix shows,and it depends on which stations do and don't report,royalties eventually show up from airplay,I'm a BMI affiliated writer,between "Dance Floor" and "Last Call",we seem to be making waves...and in Belgium, "The Anthem(I Need to Take Drugs,Drugs,Drugs) is #7 up from #10 on Radio Tempo's Tip 15,and that record is two years old and charting now; the flip side of that 'record" ,"For DJs Only" was DJ Scotty Boy's #1 most requested record as listed in Las Vegas Weekly not too long ago, and that, too, is two years old......and Ray Devine can figure this all out Tuesday night when I'm interviewed on WMPH's "CLUBHOUSE" show...but I appreciate the heads up,and tell DJ Orion that I'm glad he likes the record.

Jimi...doing one of my Long Island drives, I did hear "Dance Floor" on Party! I like it!

The BIG question....will 'KTU hop on it? Even if they don't, the song is PERFECT for Party 105!

Thank you, Tony! Doesn't Party sound HOT? and,if I do say so myself, "Dance Floor" is THAT crossover record -CHR,for Spring 06;it's the type of mass appeal track that pulls the casual music fan back over to the dance side,and primes them up to explore the rest of the dance spectrum.
The fact that both you and Andre are true believers in this record is so important, and positive vibes from John Parker and Cary Vance ,it's quite exciting and inspiring.MWC and CHRles have also been quite supportive on the board.
Thanks again,
Jimi
p.s.
As to KTU; I know they have 'ears';Vic Latino gave us a prime time spin with "Loud Enough" just about a year ago,and thought that was a fabulous record.Totally objectively, I think "Dance Floor" is just the record KTU needs right now to define itself in NYC!
Edited by lalumia on 03/13/06 04:53 AM.

Would love to see your name get bigger on radio playlists. Maybe now that Spitzer is prancing around at Entercom and other companies, radio stations will take a chance on this instead of just relying on the usual major record label politics?

Thanks,CHRles,I'm sort of in a 'genre' of my own where dance is concerned,so I understood the initial reluctance;radio was also afraid of Elvis,The Beatles,Disco and Hip Hop at the beginning(wow,that sounds pretty pompous,but the comparison is that their initial presentation was different from everything around them,and scared programmers at first);
I just like to think I'm adding another 'color' to the pallet of dance, and perhaps be able to draw in folks who normally don't pay attention to dance; I know a while back MWC told me that friends of his who normally don't respond to dance were very responsive to the early "Jimi" tracks, "The Anthem" and "For DJs Only"
Another sign that we had a crossover record with "Dance Floor"; the producer,Bobby La Serra,was playing back the finished track and his elderly mom stuck her head in the studio(which she NEVER does) and said she expected to see the little bald guy from 6 Flags dancing around(a reference to a tv commercial that uses "We Like To Party" by the Venga Boys;that's when I knew we had a cross over record that would work in loud smoky clubs and,at the same time, at mainstream radio, if given the chance, it's the one they lean in to 'turn it up, it's not LOUD ENOUGH".
thanks for the words....
