Several years after leaving the cast and now hosting Late Night, Jimmy Fallon returned to host SNL tonight for the Christmas show with musical guest Michael Buble (who sang Christmas songs).
It was a decent show with several previous castmembers from Fallon's years on the show showing up briefly in sketches. Rachel Dratch and Amy Poehler showed up in Fallon's musical monologue. Later on, a bearded Horatio Sanz, Tracy Morgan, and Chris Kattan joined Jimmy for a Christmas song in the sketch where the four of them bop and sing to the music with Kattan holding the synthesizer. Sanz and Kattan appeared briefly in a Beethoven sketch with Jimmy later on.
Jimmy did some impersonations including Regis, Sting, Justin Bieber, and Russell Brand.
And, on Weekend Update, the former anchor teams of Tina Fey and Jimmy vs Seth and Amy competed in a Weekend Joke-Off. And the winner was.....no spoiler, you'll have to watch it to find out.
Jimmy and everyone else made it down to the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink for the farewell. Turns out everyone knows how to skate.
